TEAM DEVELOPMENT: SDI  (PROGRAMME)

 

This one-day event uses the “Strength Deployment Inventoryã” to help teams improve their teamwork by developing their awareness of the way they relate to each other.

 

OBJECTIVES

 At the end of this workshop, participants will be better able to:

®  identify that we each have a personal relating style which influences how we work in a team

®  determine their own personal relating style

®  ascertain the relating style of others in their team (whole team programme only)

®  identify key behaviours which will indicate the relating style of others

®  adapt their style to better relate to others

®  identify actions that will develop their team-working further by developing  a personal action plan for the next six months

 

Workshop programme

Introduction

Session 1 - Introduction

  • Introduction to Teamwork and Team working

 

Session 2 – How we work as a team

  • A team exercise to use as a benchmark as to how the team works together

 

Session 3– The importance of Relationships

  • Introduction to Relationship Awareness theory

 

Session 4 – Scoring the SDI

  • The Strength Deployment Inventory is introduced, scored and interpreted

  • Implications for the team

 

Session 5 – Dealing with Conflict

  • How our behaviour changes when we are in conflict and how we can recover

 

Session 6 – Focusing on your team

  • Using the information to explore the relating styles of each team member and how that influences how effectively the team works together

 

Session 7 – Improved team-working

  • A team exercise to compare how the new information has affected the team development

 

Session 8 – Personal Action planning

  • Each participant develops a personal action plan for taking the new insights forward
