MAKING THE MOST OF DIVERSITY  (PROGRAMME)

 

The workshop aims to assist managers to manage and encourage a diverse workforce and to understand their responsibilities under current UK and EU legislation in relation to equal opportunities.

 

OBJECTIVES

 At the end of this workshop, participants will be better able to:

®  recognise the benefits of developing a positive approach to diversity in the workplace

®  recall the main facts relating to equal opportunities legislation in employment

®  identify the common barriers to diversity in organisations

®  assess how to ensure recruitment practices are free from bias

®  identify what is meant by harassment and bullying, and put in place strategies for preventing and/or dealing with it

®  recognise the differences between lawful positive action and unlawful "positive discrimination".
