CASE STUDIES
Marks & Spencer (M&S)
Since 2006 we have worked for Marks and Spencer plc in the field of management development and employment law.
Design
We have produced over 30 different learning solutions for M&S during this time, working to a managerial audience of both head office and retail store managers. This means that we are very much in tune with the needs of a fast-moving business in terms of their immediate requirements for their managers and what they feel their management will need in the future.
Products we have developed include workshops with comprehensive trainer’s notes, hints and tips; open learning workbooks; and guides. Our trainers have piloted workshops to M&S’s own training teams.
We have also, in conjunction with the M&S Head of Employee Relations and her team, designed a series of workshops for HR teams, particularly for the People Policy Specialists call centre which supports line managers on employment issues.
Our programmes for managers include a two-day management career path programme covering subjects such as grievances, sick absence management and disciplinaries; and a one day workshop on appeals. All have excellent evaluations and run regularly except in peak trading periods.
Outcome
Programmes deliver:
® consistent approaches to people management across a multi-sited business
® greater manager confidence in dealing with people issues
® better understanding of how the law applies to day-to-day management
® “real-life” rich case studies which learners have commented on as being extremely realistic and valuable
Client comment:
“I am always impressed by ReCreate’s reliability, the quality of the products and the creativity and innovation they bring to different solutions. ReCreate’s QA processes are very robust. Although sometimes three ReCreate writers work on the same workshop (due a tight deadline), it is impossible for the learner to detect that different writers have been at work. I also always have complete confidence that scripts have been properly proofed and that the cross-referencing has been double-checked.”
